Inside Hueston Woods, we encourage you to bring the family out for a day at the park. Plan a picnic at one of our groves, such as Sycamore or Maple Grove picnic areas. Get a view of the Hueston Woods Covered Bridge at our Hedge Row Picnic Area or Quarry Picnic Area. Parking and restrooms or latrines are available in these areas. Throughout the park, you'll find other smaller picnic areas perfect for couples or smaller groups.
Hueston Woods State Park offers ample space for picnicking across its roughly 3,000 acres, featuring multiple designated picnic areas with tables and grills, including spots near Acton Lake, a beach area, and scattered throughout the park for various group sizes, providing plenty of room to spread out for families or larger gatherings. You'll find general areas near the beach and lodge, plus more secluded spots along the 40+ miles of trails.
